TWENTY SOMETHING
‘‘An exhibition that explores the complex emotions and experiences of being in your twenties today.
Themes like self-discovery, relationships, and mental health are examined in a visual and sensory way through eight audiovisual installations.
Each work combines image, sound, and space to invite reflection and recognition.
The creative process behind Twenty Something is intuitive and experimental. Spontaneous moments, personal conversations, and a mix of scripted and incidental scenes form the foundation of the works.
The project deliberately plays with contrasts: between speed and stillness, chaos and calm, the everyday and the surreal.
Let yourself be carried away by the images and sounds that together create a portrait of life in your twenties.
The exhibition does not offer answers but creates a space where thoughts and emotions can converge. Here, you can lose yourself, pause, and perhaps discover something new within.’’

STILSTAND | STANDING STILL
‘‘In my early twenties, I often felt like the whole world was moving forward while I was stuck in the same place, or even going backward. This work reflects that struggle between wanting to grow and feeling like you can’t move forward.’’
THUNDER & SEA
‘‘My emotions are often like waves: calm and gentle one moment, and then suddenly a storm takes over. It’s a constant back-and-forth between feeling overwhelmed and being able to breathe again.’’
STOEL IN DE FIK | CHAIR ON FIRE
‘‘Sometimes it feels like everything just happens, and you’re merely a spectator, as if life is happening to you without any control. Like you’re on fire and don’t know how to put it out.’’
- This work was displayed on an old television -
DE WACHTKAMER | THE WAITING ROOM
The works Stilstand (Standing Still) and Zelfobsessie (Self Obsession) were displayed in the same space, an old-fashioned living room where the furniture is covered in plastic and moving boxes are stacked on the couches. The space not only represents leaving home and finding independence but also how your upbringing can sometimes hold you back in the search for yourself, making you feel like you still have to justify your choices.
ZELFOBSESSIE | SELF OBSESSION
‘‘There are days when you’re completely trapped in your own head. Everything revolves around you, and you forget about the rest of the world. You wonder if anyone truly understands you, but you end up losing yourself in self-pity.’’
(ON)RUST | REST(LESS)
‘‘It’s like I’m constantly swinging between wanting to experience everything and just needing to be still. This work explores that restlessness, that endless search for a place where you feel at ease, somewhere between chaos and calm.’’
FALL, RISE, REPEAT
‘‘Life often feels like stumbling, but it’s also about getting back up. This work is a kind of reminder to myself that it’s okay to fail, that every time I stand back up, I grow stronger in the end.’’
- For this work there was no audio requested -
POPPY FIELD
‘‘There are moments when I feel very small and that’s what brings me peace. This work is an ode to those moments when you’re allowed to simply exist, without everything needing to be big and important. You’re just a small flower in a vast poppy field.’’
- Audio was designed to form a perfect loop from start to finish -
HAPPY AS A CHILD
‘‘This work is a reflection on how things used to be, when everything was still simple and carefree. It reminds me of how wonderful it feels to just play sometimes, to escape the chaos. Life’s too short to take it too seriously.’’
